Dylan Beard Walmart Deli worker is all set to participate in the Olympic Trials to be held in Oregon this June.
At first glance, Dylan Beard, a 25-year-old Walmart Deli employee from North Carolina, appears to be an ordinary person.
However, there is something special about him; he is also an Olympic hopeful.
He made it to the top three qualifiers in the 60-meter hurdles at the Millrose Games in February and is now looking forward to taking part in the U.S. Olympic Track & Field Trials this June.

If he finishes in the top three at the U.S. Trials in Eugene, Oregon, in June, he will be able to represent the United States in the Paris Olympics.
According to Beard’s interview on The Today Show, he was fairly relaxed when he went for the run because he had nothing to lose and everything to gain.
According to his employers, his manager at Walmart, David Davis, appreciates Beard’s customer service and says he goes “above and beyond, just like he does on track,” as reported by Today.
Walmart’s vice president, Liz Consuegra, told PEOPLE that they were tremendously delighted to have Beard as an employee and member of the Walmart family.
“His accomplishments on the track not only highlight his individual success but also reflect his commitment and drive at work. We are all cheering Dylan on as he prepares to compete in the Olympic trials.”
Even his coach at North Carolina University, Reuben McCoy, talked highly of Beard’s integrity and work ethic, which he thinks is unmatched.
A Howard University graduate, Beard is currently pursuing a master’s degree in public health at a university in Washington, D.C., while he excelled in track and field events.

Walmart surprised Beard with a $20,000 check on Today because he is an unsponsored athlete. This money will go to his family and friends, who will be there to cheer him on at the Oregon trials in June.
Beard is glad that his name is associated with something he loves, and he is also happy to be working for Walmart, which represents him and many other people.
