Bob Dunlop, a resident of Cambridgeshire, UK, shared his unlikely and unusual friendship with a wild fox he had helped to cure.

A 69-year-old kind man, Bob Dunlop from Littleport, Cambridgeshire, England, has become friends with the most unlikely of animals: a fox, according to the Good News Network.

In December 2023, he observed that the fox’s tail wasn’t as bushy as it should have been and felt the poor animal was sick. He took a closer look at the wildlife cameras set up near his house and realized he was right.

Dunlop kept track of the tiny animal and, by following her on camera, he found her den.

He notified the National Fox Welfare Society about the cub’s condition, and they advised him to treat her with a homeopathic medicine.

They sent Dunlop a homeopathic remedy consisting of sulphur 30c and arsenicum for free

He then used the medicine by pouring a few drops onto some bread and fed it to the creature daily during his regular treks through the English forest.

As he began feeding the animal, it led to one of the oddest animal-human friendships between Dunlop and the wild fox.

He formed an unusual friendship with the animal, but he was careful not to domesticate the young cub too much.

He is no longer feeding the fox and has reduced his visits to her, hoping that she stays independent in the wild.

Dunlop thinks the young pup is the last member of a fox family who stayed in the region earlier.

The cub, probably having contracted the ailment from her mother, is now around a year old and has recovered from the sickness.

The pup was suffering from mange, a skin ailment caused by very tiny mites that burrow deep inside the skin of an animal.

Fully healed, the little critter behaves like a dog and showers Dunlop with loads of love and affection.

Dunlop has also developed a liking for the animal, considers her ‘a special animal,’ and finds it difficult to let go.

Despite the strange human-animal bond, Dunlop wants the fox to be free and have her own family and pups someday.

SWNS released a heartwarming video in which the little pup wags her tail and bites at Dunlop’s trousers to get his attention.
